Bunch in the Creek war. James Baxter was in the battle of the
Horse Shoe. He was honorably discharged at Camp Offsite at Ross
Landing Tennessee July 29, 1814 after serving his full six
months. He inlisted as a substitute in the place of one Thomas
Mantooth on Jan. 10, 1814 for the term of six months.

follows: 50 acres on the Caney Fork of Cosby Creek on April 8,
