Willis was living in a small one room house that he had built on
a hillside across the hollow a short distance from his oldest
daughter, Girtrue when he died. He took his meals with Girtrue
and when he didn't show up for breakfast on the morning of May
14, 1955, Girtrue sent one of her girls to get him. He had died
sometime during the night of a heart attack. It appeared that he
had died in his sleep. He was 73 years, 3 months and 11 days old
when he died. He lived 6 years and 2 days after his wife,
Margaret Ann Hembree Baxter died.
